Essay Topics For Stephen Kings Night Shift by Stephen King
Essay Topics For Stephen King's Night Shift by Stephen KingThere are four key essay topics for Stephen King and one that is always left out. They are also addressed in the book to a certain extent, but they are three of the most vital ideas. The first essay topic is that of the death of Carrie. It has been said that the death of Carrie is a chapter within the novel itself, and that some of the characters are connected to it. However, it is the central character that we read about most throughout the novel. This chapter deals with some very good explanation of the question, 'Why?' King has stated that the main story, in a way, only comprises 'seven sentences'. He has described this as a 'solution to a riddle'. As his reader progresses through the novel, he mentions they will find the answer, but there is no actual solution. This section deals with the main character, Walter O'Dim, and how he is the chief audience with this question. Although in the beginning of the novel, he doesn't real ly answer the question, he is becoming more aware of it. In the second half of the novel, the other characters also are beginning to meet their own challenges as the writers begin to focus on other characters. The next essay topic is the paper themes that are part of the genre. These themes include people, the sea, and night. These themes are referenced frequently throughout the book, as well as the story itself. One theme, which is mentioned much less in the novel, deals with the sea. Although King describes the sea as 'the slow realization of what you've lost', it is a theme that permeates the entire novel. The sea is described as a 'ringing night sea', and while King himself makes reference to 'rearranging the letters of the Greek alphabet to say 'sea' when speaking of the sea, there is not really a lot of explanation. There are also the paper themes that the novel refers to, but they are not really highlighted by King. They are described quite frequently in the novel and are not re ally directly linked to the novel. However, the tone of the novel lends them a lot of meaning.
